The Streaming Giant Chooses Spot-On Star for Bentham in One Piece Season 3

Baroque Works is set to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced recently that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bon Clay. Bon Clay has the ability to change into an exact copy of anyone they’ve touched with their right hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a version of that role reimagined as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and animated series.

Escola joins several other recently announced actors tasked with bringing the organization to the screen, such as leader Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.

Although this character is a major member of the group, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Considering the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this represents a significant shift in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate further changes to the story’s structure.

Their mix of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the role. Along with their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
