Arsenal striker the Swedish attacker has been omitted in Graham Potter's first Swedish national team selection, whereas Liverpool striker the talented attacker secured a place

The Arsenal forward is due for additional examinations this week following worries he suffered a hamstring injury during Arsenal's Premier League triumph at Burnley on Saturday

Gyokeres was absent from Arsenal' European win versus Slavia Prague on Tuesday

Isak Returns

Isak, who hasn't featured since late October because of a groin problem, has been chosen for the World Cup matches versus the Swiss team (15 November) plus Slovenia (November 18th)

Additional England-based Selections

  • Tottenham playmaker Lucas Bergvall, currently rehabilitating from concussion
  • Newcastle winger the Swedish international

These players are among Potter's Premier League contingent selected under ex- Brighton, Chelsea and West Ham manager Graham Potter

The New Manager's Role

Potter was appointed by Sweden first on a short-term basis in late October, less than four weeks after leaving by West Ham

Previous manager the Danish coach was fired following Sweden's setback against the Kosovan team on 13 October, an outcome that made automatic qualification from qualifying group out of reach

Current Situation

The Swedish team are currently last place of their qualifying group with just a single point from their opening four games

Even if they don't manage to secure second place, they could still participate in the qualification playoffs as a result thanks to their showing in the latest UEFA competition
