Real Madrid signed Trent Alexander-Arnold with a six-year contract

Trent Alexander-Arnold's recovery is progressing according to plan, giving hope that the Madrid defender may be fit soon enough to confront his previous team Liverpool in November's European match.

The 27-year-old player sustained a muscle problem while playing against French club Marseille in the initial phase of the competition on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off the field in the fifth minute, with early indications pointing to a possible layoff of up to a month and a half.

Real Madrid are scheduled to visit Liverpool on 4 November for the European fixture—just seven weeks after the injury took place.

Sources familiar with the situation indicate that the player's comeback is progressing well, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold may make his initial comeback to Liverpool's stadium since joining Real Madrid in the summer.

A devoted Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold earlier remarked that departing from the team he joined as a young youth player was the "toughest choice he's ever taken."

During his spell with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold accumulated 354 games, helping claim two English top-flight championships, a European Cup, and the FA Cup.

After moving to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has featured five times across all competitions, logging 156 minutes of game time.
