Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a former doctor stands accused of carrying out assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
